Salary Top-Up

We know that having a baby can be expensive, so we’re stepping in to top up your government benefits! For primary caregivers, we'll ensure your paycheck remains whole for up to 26 joyful weeks. Secondary caregivers? You're getting full support for up to 16 weeks. All this, regardless of where you’re based.

Legal Entitlement: Varies by province, but each allows for unpaid parental leave, which can be shared between parents. Provincial variations apply.

Government Benefits: Varies by province; typically EI provides parental benefits to eligible parents who are away from work to care for their newborn or newly adopted child or children. Parents can choose between standard parental benefits (up to 40 weeks, but one parent cannot receive more than 35 weeks of standard benefits) or extended parental benefits (up to 69 weeks, but one parent cannot receive more than 61 weeks of extended benefits). These benefits are paid at a lower rate if taken over a longer period.
